Scarlet Community Music Club

4 performers at one of SCMC's shows

Scarlet Community Music Club was formed in June 2004 to deliver music workshops to children in Lincolnshire. We are a not-for-profit organisation, funded by local and national arts funding and supported by Scarlet Music Services administration facilities. We deliver professional, progressive, creative music workshops, mainly in rural settings in South Lincolnshire, for children and young people, who would not normally be able to access this type of activity, due to limitations in opportunities, transport and money. We are completely open access and work in all genres and with all types of music.

Our projects are led by professional, experienced artists in education, who are equipped to deliver to an extremely high standard and to support each participant that we work with. We also work very hard within our projects to develop community cohesion and social connection, in our diverse local community, through music and the projects that we lead.

Scarlet Community Music Club are funded by Youth Music and SHDC.

Keep an eye on our news page and follow us on instagram for our next projects, or contact us with any enquiries.

Choir Vibe performing at Saint Margaret's Hall, Quadring

Choir VIBE have performed at many events and places including The Royal Albert Hall, Belton House, MFY School Proms, Oxford Castle, the South Holland Centre, Spalding Parish Church, several “Switching on the Christmas Lights” in Spalding Town Centre, The Pumpkin Parade stage, performed with the LONDON MOZART PLAYERS at the International Food Festival, a Live podcast in the SHDC Council Chambers, Skegness Embassy Theatre and Latitude Festival, with GOLDEN FABLES and Lincoln Inspired Festival – 3 years running – amongst many others!

They have performed live on Peterborough FM radio, LMS music Teachers conference, MFY festival, The Queens 90th birthday celebrations, sang on feature film ‘Dishonoured’ title soundtrack, and many other fantastic performances and events.

The Music For Youth (MFY) mentor said:

“You make the most beautiful sound: gentle, pure, clean – just lovely….your sense of ensemble is excellent…..your harmonies are exquisite, well blended, each line shining through….you sing with conviction and your intonation is excellent.”

Composer Howard Goodall said to potential CHOIR VIBE singers:

“Anything Liz Lenten does has a dusting of magic about it. All I can say is to anyone who is thinking ‘shall I, shan’t I, maybe, maybe not?’, just GO GO GO, it’ll be brilliant and you’ll wonder why you waited even 10 seconds to think about it. Oh, and remember- just about every singer you’ve ever admired started in a choir”

The star of BBC’s programme THE CHOIR, Gareth Malone, endorsed CHOIR VIBE – he said:

“You might think singing in a choir would be boring… You’d be WRONG! Singing is a wonderful way to meet new people. You can make friends whilst enjoying a great activity that’s both fun and challenging. Rehearsing can be so enjoyable and singing songs just makes you feel good. I joined a choir when I was at primary school and carried on right through my teenage years and I’ve now performed in exciting venues all over Europe. Singing is a wonderful way to develop your confidence. You won’t know until you try….”
